Ski flying · Buskerud
Watch jumpers fly 250 metres at one of the world’s two giant hills.
Vikersundbakken is one of only two ski-flying hills of its size in the world; jumps beyond 250 metres have been made here. For one weekend each March the World Cup circus arrives and the valley fills with flags, cowbells and grilled sausages.
Why it is a winter thing: Ski flying happens on one World Cup weekend in late winter.
One World Cup weekend, normally in March. The 2026 weekend was 20–22 March; the next date is published by the organiser.

You will be standing outside for hours. Wear insulated boots and bring something to stand on; spectator stairs get icy.
