The Olympic downhill mountain — steeper and quieter than its neighbour.
Kvitfjell was built for the 1994 Olympic downhill and still hosts World Cup speed races. It is steeper and less crowded than Hafjell, 225 km from Oslo, and shares its lift pass, so strong skiers often split a weekend between the two.
Why it is a winter thing: A winter-only lift operation, and the World Cup races are held in late winter.
About late November to mid or late April. The 2025/26 season ran 29 November to 19 April.
The pass is shared with Hafjell; see the resort for this season’s price.
