Snow hotel · Innlandet
Sleep in a room carved from snow, rebuilt with a new theme every year.
Each winter Hunderfossen builds a hotel, an ice bar and a gallery of sculptures entirely from snow and ice, then lets it melt in spring. You sleep on reindeer skins in an expedition sleeping bag, with a heated apartment next door as part of the package. Hafjell’s slopes are five minutes away.
Why it is a winter thing: The hotel is made of snow and ice and exists for only a few weeks each year.
Normally mid-January to early March. Dates and the year’s theme are published in the autumn.
A night in a snow room plus a heated apartment. Only around two dozen guests fit, so it sells out.
