Sleigh ride · Innlandet
Bells, sheepskins and a horse through the snow.
A kanefart — a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh — is the gentlest way to be out in a Norwegian winter. Riding centres in the hills above Lake Mjøsa take small groups through the forest under sheepskins. In December, Lillehammer also runs sleigh rides through the town centre on selected days.
Why it is a winter thing: A sleigh on runners needs snow-covered tracks.
December to March or Easter, depending on snow.
Forest ride for small groups; ask about private departures.
