Dog sledding · Innlandet
Drive your own husky team across a snow-sure plateau.
On the Sjusjøen plateau you share a sled with a partner, one steering and one riding, behind a team of four to six huskies or malamutes. The short tour stops at a lavvu tent for bread baked on sticks over the fire; longer 15 and 30 km tours are offered for those who want a full day.
Why it is a winter thing: Sled tours need snow cover; the plateau sits at about 800 metres and holds it well.
Roughly December to early April, depending on snow. Tours for individual guests run on set days of the week.
Two people share a sled and swap driver halfway.

Sjusjøen is one of the largest cabin areas in the country, so a husky tour fits neatly into a cabin weekend. February and March weekends go early.
